Petro NJ team members volunteer to distribute food to NJ neighbors in need.

Thanks to our partnership with the Community Foodbank of New Jersey, a Farmer’s Market is held on the third Saturday of each month at St. Paul Tabernacle Church in Newark, NJ all year round. Rain, sleet, heat or snow volunteers are on site to hand out produce and dairy items at no charge to members of the local community.

On Saturday, May 18th 2019, the Petro NJ team, along with many other local volunteers, distributed fruit juice, milk, beets, collard greens, pears, sweet potatoes and cabbage to lots of local families and individuals who struggle to put fresh and healthy meals on their table.

Thanks to all of our team and their family members who spent their Saturday morning giving back to our NJ friends in need.

These Farmer’s Markets run on weekends throughout the year and they are always in need of volunteers. Volunteer hours are from 9:00am to 11:00am and three hours of community service will be earned. Please contact Community FoodBank of New Jersey at the website below for more information.

About Community FoodBank

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is the state’s largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization, providing food, help and hope among people in need by working with community partners (i.e. soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters) and through an array of feeding programs. Last year, the FoodBank distributed more than 11 million pounds of fresh produce, making up nearly 22 percent of its total distribution (more than 51 million pounds of food, which is an all-time high). The Farmers Markets are a new outlet for the FoodBank to give people these healthy food options, increasing impact across the state. Learn more about the Community FoodBank
